Spinal and nerve root decompression by surgical pediculectomy technique: Case report
Abstract. Orthopaedic surgeries in veterinary medicine have been increasing in number due to the quality of the studies in this area. Therefore, spine surgeries have been performed more frequently and the results have been good. The objective of this study is to report a case of spinal and nerve root decompression using the pediculectomy technique in a puppy dog that suffered a fall from about 3.5 meters (Manaus – Brazil). The outcome of the surgical procedure was satisfactory and the patient regained some movements and muscle tone within 20 days after the surgery.
