Control of systolic blood pressure in canine cesarean section: Case report

The selection of anesthetic protocol and medications administered in pregnant patients should primarily prioritize the safety of both the mother and the fetuses, as performing selective anesthesia in the dog without compromising fetal well-being is not feasible. This study aimed to report the anesthetic management and restoration of systemic blood pressure in a canine patient facing hypotension during a cesarean section. Reduced doses of drugs were employed to elevate maternal blood pressure and minimize fetal depression resulting from the passage of these medications through the transplacental barrier.
