Abstract

The objective was to analyze the applicability of management tools in a dairy farm in order to survey and correct flaws and, consequently, suggest corrections in order to maximize the productive and economic return. Data were collected from a semi-structured questionnaire containing 549 questions in a dairy farm located in the municipality of Rio Branco, in the State of Acre, in April 2022. local and later compiled. Adhering to the GUT matrix, the main weaknesses found were: Poor hygiene of the teats using cloth as material, lack of adoption of bulky supplement in the dry period and lack of routine examinations of brucellosis and tuberculosis. From the ranking of weaknesses, carried out using brainstorming and the GUT matrix, it was stipulated which management tool would be used: PDCA, 5W2H and Ishikawa diagram in search of good results in the dairy system of the property and the economic return. It was concluded that it is possible to adapt the management tools, so used in other activities, to dairy farming; can be used on an ongoing basis for management or on a one-off basis in establishing a plan or project.
