Abstract

Mediastinal lymphoma is a neoplasm that occurs due to the disordered proliferation of malignant lymphocytes and can affect animals of different age groups. The present study aimed to report the case of a feline, No Defined Breed, four years old, treated in an emergency room, with respiratory difficulty and anorexia. After radiographic examination, pleural effusion was observed, in which thoracentesis was performed on both thoracic sides. It was possible to perform the blood count, which showed no noteworthy changes. The animal showed a worsening of the condition and died, so a necropsy was performed, revealing a huge mass in the mediastinum region, and then the mediastinum lymphoma was confirmed by histopathological examination.
