PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DA HANSENÍASE NO MUNICÍPIO DE IMPERATRIZ, REGIÃO SUDOESTE DO ESTADO DO MARANHÃO, BRASIL

Abstract

The Hanseníase is a problem of Public Health in Brazil and thousands of people every year are attacks for this disease in the country, being that in last the ten years the research shows that in the State of the Maranhão, 14.7% of the cities had presented a Coefficient of 20 bigger prevalence that cases/10.000 inhabitants, what a hiperendêmico character confers them, therefore inside of the system of the OMS, the coefficient is of a case for 10.000 population. In this study if it objectified to investigate the profile epidemiologist of the Hanseníase in the City of Imperatriz, Southwestern region of the State of the Maranhão, Brazil. Also, to inquire which the factors that come contributing with the current incidence. The collection of data was carried through the SINAN, System of Information of Grievances of Notification, the total of patients taken care of in the period of January of 2006 the August of 2008, in the Complex of Health, the quarter Anhanguera Park, the studied city. In the period of the research if the 2008 standard out a number of 1.058 cases in the years of 2006, being the percentile greater in the year of 2006 that it was of 39,51%, followed of 2007 with 35,54% and in 2008 with 24,95%. However, it was observed that this disease if presents endemic, exactly with little annual notifications. This sketch constitutes an important contribution for the knowledge of the Hanseníase in the City of Imperatriz, Southwestern region of the State of the Maranhão, Brazil.
