Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the interaction of liming with phosphate coverage in degraded pastures of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu. The design was a randomized block design with four replications. The treatments consisted of five doses of P2O5 (dose calculated based on the analysis of soil and the crop needs 60 kg ha-1 P2O5 ½ and two levels below the needed 30 and 0 kg and two levels above the necessary 90 to 120 kg) and these in the form of Super Simple. And five limestone doses in order to increase the V% (35% which is the witness, 45%, 55%, 65% and 75%). After the standardization cut to 20 cm, the treatments were applied, and thirty days after the material collected for analysis. At this point were done the following tests: production of fresh and dry matter and the data were evaluated statistically using the computer program SISVAR. There was a significant interaction between phosphorus X liming on Brachiaria brizantha cv Marandu. To match the best treatments were 90 and 120 kg ha-1, while for the lime treatments were the best when it attempted to raise base saturation to 65% and 75%. The forage production also increased after 120 days.
