Abstract

Most of the production of milk and meat in Brazil is based on pasture systems. The silage is the most ancient and traditional food preservation feed. When one thinks of wet forage conservation, forage maize is more traditional. There are several factors that contribute to the successful production of corn silage between them stand the choice of hybrid cultivation and especially the harvesting and ensiling process. The production of corn silage requires the technical expertise at every stage of the process. A wrong decision during the production cycle can cause losses in the system, which can negatively influence financial performance.
