Abstract

In silvopastoral systems, using pine forests for the purpose of extraction of resin and grazing areas intended for livestock, it is essential that the maintenance and preservation of trees, along the entire production cycle, so there is success economic, ecological and productive these integrated activities. Although the pine culture is resistant to various climatic factors and resistance to most diseases and pests, the water deficit in severe esclalas can predsispor and influence gumming panel of drought and the death of pine trees caribaea var. caribaea and Pinus caribaea var. Hondurensis. Studies and assessments made in the field Cancela Farms and Santa Marta, owned by Rio Rancho Agropecuária S / A, located in the municipalities of Grand Mogol, Padre Carvalho and Fruta de Leite, Minas Gerais, allowed to analyze the various plots under gumming and as free plots of this activity. Investigations and preliminary studies from October 2012 it was evident the low productivity of resin obtained in recent years in It. Cancela Farm and Santa Marta, with some individuals presenting drought gumming panel and currently this new case study, it was evidenced not only the drought gumming panels but mostly death of pine trees with and without gumming at Cancela Farm. These manifestations correlated to periods of drought, evident in this diagnosis motivated investigations and searches for answers that could elucidate the causes and effects of tree mortality, which has brought a direct impact on the frustration of crops and decrease in number of availability faces which would have the potential to be resinated in normal weather conditions.
