Abstract

Hydatidosis is a cosmopolitan parasitic disease caused by the larval form of Echinococcus granulosus cestode that affects humans and other animals. His adult parasite forms the dog intestine and the larval form affects ruminants, pigs, horses and accidentally, the man with the formation of cysts preferably in the lungs and liver. It is a zoonosis of great significance, which involves damage to public health and economic losses in several regions of the world. This article aimed to present an approach to hydatid disease, including epidemiological, clinical, pathological and prophylactic disease.
