Abstract

The fetal maceration occurs more in feline species than in canine, characterized by the use of contraceptives erratically, causing disruptive degenerative changes of the fetus. The diagnosis is based on clinical evaluation by the anamnesis, more ultrasound is strictly required the latter to better diagnosis. The treatment was ovary-salpinge-hysterectomy. In this study it was reported rupture of the uterus with the presence of bones in the abdominal cavity and friable tissues. It was diagnosed as fetal maceration after opening of the abdominal cavity. The patient came to death on the same day, hours after surgery, requesting necropsy.
