Abstract

Frequent in dogs, especially the medium and large ones, the Hip Dysplasia is a polygenic disease of a quantitative and multifactorial nature. The Golden Retriever breed is prone to this disease. For the conclusive evaluation a correct radiographic opinion with high technical quality is important, besides the confirmation of the documentation. The exams should be performed in clinics that meet the criteria of the International Cinologic Federation, where the Norberg angle is an important diagnostic data. The data presented in this work refer to the years 2010 to 2015 and the results obtained show that the majority of dogs do not present the Hip Dysplasia, and among the sick animals, mild Hip Dysplasia type C is the most frequent.
