Recurrent urethral obstruction in feline

The goal of this project is to improve the knowledge of veterinarians and students by registering data and emphasizing information that will help identify common factors associated with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD). Clinical signs associated with the feline lower urinary tract are a frequent reason for veterinary appointments, presenting dysuria, hematuria, pollakiuria, periuria and stranguria. The etiology of FLUTD is multifaceted and can include urolithiasis, urethral obstruction, urinary tract infections, neoplasia, trauma, urinary incontinence, neurogenic causes, behavioral factors, and/or feline idiopathic cystitis. For recurring cases, a urethrostomy followed by a penectomy, along with environmental changes, are recommended to promote improved well-being.
