Abstract

Osteosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm that frequently affects the bones of dogs, especially the elderly, with a high rate of metastasis and a very high growth rate. The main therapeutic approach is surgical intervention associated with chemotherapy which proportionally increases survival to the animal. This case report is about a dog Border Collier, that had enlargement in the left anterior limb, being performed clinical and complementary examination with diagnosis of neoplasia. Limb amputation was performed as a therapeutic and preventive method to prevent metastasis in the animal, which recovered well after surgery.
