Atendimento clínico felino eficiente para reduzir estresse e alterações em exames complementares

Resumo

A espécie felina apresenta características bastante particulares e possui grande sensibilidade a estímulos olfativos, visuais, táteis e sonoros. Desse modo, na ida ao ambiente veterinário, inúmeros são os fatores que podem causar estresse. Por isso, o manejo cat friendly é essencial na rotina clínica para reduzir alterações em exames complementares, já que um animal nesse estado apresenta mudanças significativas em seus parâmetros fisiológicos. Ao realizar estratégias positivas, que respeitem as individualidades dos pacientes, eles se sentem mais tranquilos e confiantes, o que diminui a probabilidade de desenvolverem patologias relacionadas ao estresse. Além disso, é fato que ambientes hospitalares amigáveis para felinos otimizam a recuperação e preservam o estado emocional dos animais. Este trabalho faz uma revisão das principais práticas no atendimento clínico que garantem maior bem-estar para os gatos, minimizando as fontes de estresse e, consequentemente, as alterações em exames complementares. Com essas medidas, tanto os animais quanto os tutores tornam-se mais seguros para realizar visitas regulares ao médico veterinário, permitindo um monitoramento frequente do estado de saúde dos animais, o que aumenta as chances de diagnósticos precoces serem realizados.
