Rinite fúngica em equino Quarto de Milha: Relato de caso

A rinite fúngica em equinos é de ocorrência rara, ainda não se sabe ao certo como a etiopatogenia da doença funciona. Os fungos são conhecidos pelo seu caráter oportunista, e o uso indiscriminado de corticosteroides, antibióticos de amplo espectro e doenças concomitantes são considerados fatores de risco. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar um caso de rinite fúngica em um cavalo Quarto de Milha de 09 anos atendido no Setor de Clínica e Cirurgia de Grandes Animais do Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. Animal apresentou secreção nasal bilateral serosa e feridas ulceradas com placas fúngicas nas narinas externas. O diagnóstico foi realizado principalmente via rinoscopia, cultivo fúngico e reação em cadeia da polimerase (PCR). À rinoscopia foi observado que as lesões se localizavam nas conchas e septo nasal bilateralmente, estendendo-se das narinas externas à porção média da cavidade nasal. Os agentes isolados foram Aspergillus spp, Exophiala spp e Penicillium spp e o tratamento realizado em duas etapas. A primeira consistiu no uso de uma fórmula contendo clotrimazol, miconazol e anfotericina B, utilizada por via tópica por 82 dias totais. Diante da não resolução do quadro aos 44 dias de tratamento tópico, foi adicionado à terapia fluconazol e iodeto de potássio, administrados por via oral por 06 meses. Após o início da terapia sistêmica, houve melhora significativa das lesões, com resolução total da infecção após 07 meses e meio de tratamento, sendo observado apenas tecido cicatricial à rinoscopia. Concluiu-se que a associação das terapias foi efetiva neste caso.
