Abstract

Aiming to align the production of animal products of excellent biological value with vegetables, whether they are until the seedling stage or adult plant, aquaponics brings this interrelationship of the technique for use in large and, mainly, in small productions. Aquaponics unites aquaculture with hydroponics, using methods of reusing water and nutrients due to filtering systems, with a lower impact of production on the environment. The system's sustainability is related to the lower demand for water, which provides production conditions for small producers, in addition to enabling production with the use of simple and tipper materials.
