Abstract

Veterinarians are able to act in the integration of man, animal and environment, and the action of these professionals consists of applying knowledge in favor of the protection and promotion of human health through the different roles that the veterinarian can play within public health. However, even in 2022, there is still a lack of recognition of this category as public health agents, especially by health professionals and students. In this context, it is necessary to measure the perception of students and workers in the health area about the role of the veterinarian in public health activities. The objective was to evaluate how the veterinarian is seen in relation to his performance in public health by professionals and undergraduates in courses in the health area.
