Bone neoplasm compatible with chondrosarcoma in Pantherophis guttatus

Chondrosarcoma is an aggressive malignant neoplasm that is difficult to treat in domestic animals, particularly dogs and cats, and presents metastatic potential to the lungs, liver, and other tissues. Its diagnosis and management represent a challenge for veterinarians. The occurrence of this neoplasm in snakes is uncommon and becomes even more challenging when affecting geriatric animals. This report describes a probable case of chondrosarcoma in an elderly Pantherophis guttatus, in which palliative treatment was chosen due to the extent of the lesion and the unfavorable prognosis.
